The end of an era

We have said a very fond farewell this last week to Mr. Leslie Baker.  He has taught in the CGS Music Department for some 28 years.

A Saxophone duet with a Y7 student, however it becomes more interesting when you see what they were playing:

We sincerely hope that that is what you will do in your retirement.  Just for the record, here is Mr. Baker ticking off his register for the final time:

He will be greatly missed by the Music Department.  Indeed, he has been part of Music at CGS since 1986 - a fine record spanning 28 years.  For the first 6 he was Director of Music;  subsequently teaching Clarinet, Saxophone, Voice and Piano.  In that time he has inspired many students into a real love of music, developing their skills and encouraging them in many ways.
